This page will be used to provide updates on the scheduled electrical work at 20 Overland Street location and data center scheduled for Friday, May 30, 6:00 PM to Saturday, May 31 6:00 PM. The work will involve replacing the building's electrical transformer by Eversource and CBRE. This requires shutting down the building’s grid power and activating the backup generator to retain power at the data center.
Updates:
- Friday, May 30, 6:00 PM: The building power supply was shut off and the data center is now running on back-up, generator power.
- 8:30 PM: The backup power equipment has experienced a failure, and the data center has lost all power. All systems are now offline. Onsite resources are investigating the issue and will provide updates as soon as they are available.
- 10:30 PM: The data center will remain offline until building power is restored.
- Saturday, May 31, 2:30 PM: The data center will remain offline through this evening while the transformer replacement work is completed. Once street power is restored to the building, scheduled for 6:00 PM, onsite activities will begin to bring all systems back online. Progress will continue to be posted along with estimates once they are available.
- 6:15 PM: Full building power has been restored. Initial work to bring servers and systems back online has started.
- 8:30 PM: RCMS is back online and available for use.
- Sunday, June 1, 8:30 AM: The RCS team is continuing to work to bring the Legacy RC servers, Aether, and Argos HPC back online. Estimates will posted as they become available.
- 11:00 AM: Aether and Argos services are restored.
- 3:00 PM: Legacy (RC servers) are back online except for rc-stor1, rc-stor2, rc-staging1
