The following is only for research computers and other computers that are *not* MGB standard builds.
On Tuesday February 14, Network Access Control will be fully implemented in the following buildings:
- Dana Building
- Jimmy Fund Building
- Yawkey Center
Computers without proper security software installed will receive a warning in their web browsers with instructions.
If you need help installing security software or connecting to the network, email FLSN_dfci@dfci.harvard.edu.
Dana-Farber requires all network devices to meet minimum security requirements.
If your device is running an older operating system or is customized with non-standard software, Network Access Control (NAC) will prompt you via the web to bring it into compliance. Usually this is a software install. Sometimes it requires replacing the device. Customized devices like lab instruments that cannot support encryption or the NAC agent will need to obtain a "variance" from Information Security. There is now a new long-term variance for devices not easily remediated and a short-term variance, for devices that can be remediated soon.
